I Will Be The First

It's not like I have a legacy to pass down to biological children (just yet).

I could conclude logically it doesn't make sense laying a solid foundation for future generations that aren't visible (just yet).

A partner may not be in sight that I could build with (just yet).

But I could begin a new generational (money) line by fostering in my individual space:

  1. Climate

  2. Culture

  3. Creation

Climate

It's a known fact that the weather sets the tone for the day for most people.

If it's sunny, people will be in a great mood.

If it's rainy, people may become sad.

For some the rainy day....well I don't need to spell it out here.

The mind is prime for any type of climate.

The mind could house both sunny and stormy thoughts.

It's all about having the right perspective as it relates to money matters.

I've personally recognised that the good (sunny) thoughts will also have company of the (stormy) thoughts. I'm not going act like from time to time I don't get a little anxious about my finances. You're not alone.

But it's healthy for me to acknowledge the stormy do lead to sunny thoughts.

It's a matter of having the right perspective about my money life.

My struggle has been lamenting about not having particular goals occurring by a particular deadline. So, I don't want to close my mind off from the possibility of seeing them coming to pass in the not so distant future.

Culture

Is how I maintain the climate so there's growth.

The culture of goal setting; I decided to give it another try. I honestly did not want to do it because of 2021, but I went through with it anyway.

What I found different personally walking through this process was I had a calm mind before I actually begun writing down my goals.

Granted I took a sea bath before I did it, but I was in a very relaxed state.

Being worried and anxious does not help bring solutions to my money situation in quick time. In fact, it further delays it and leads to paralysis.

To foster the climate (my transition from stormy to sunny), a new culture has to be cultivated through:

  1. Nurturing

  2. Networking

Nurturing

Taking care of my finances is a form of my financial self-care. If I am a faithful steward of what I have presently, when the more than enough comes, I will be able to be as nurturing. But I understand to get to the next level in my financial walk, what I have presently must be given the same level of attention.

Networking

Surrounding myself with others of like mind has been really beneficial for me. I pick people's brains. I listen to people, I share, I receive feedback and I realise that I'm not alone in this walk. There are others who want and are striving for the desires of my heart also.

Creation

The process of making the invisible; visible.

Creation occurs two fold in my process:

  1. Equipping

  2. Earning

Equipping

My plan is to further develop and add to my skill sets in my portfolio. The career fields that I have been involved in for the past seventeen years do have the potential for me to enter into different areas within their corresponding sectors. I'm open to exploring different avenues I have never been on.

Earning

And through adding to my present skill set, this will increase my ability to earn more. I'm no longer ashamed to desire more than one income stream. This does not make me a greedy person. It's the way through which I could become more secure financially.

So it starts with me.

Though these efforts may seem tiny in the grand scheme things, it's generating a ripple effect which could reset the trajectory of the generation that's coming after me.
